Quick fix

Enable MCP servers one at a time to find the unusable configuration, then disable or remove it and reload Claude Code.

Error output
No MCP servers configured. Use `claude mcp add` to add a server.

The reported issues cover various MCP configuration, import, sync, and conversion problems. Invalid or incompatible MCP JSON may make all MCP servers unavailable in Claude Code. Users also reported MCP entries being rewritten, lost, or converted into a format incompatible with the target client when switching providers, saving configurations, or importing configurations. Some issues have recorded fixes, while others remain open, so they cannot be confirmed as the same root cause.

  1. Enable configured MCP servers one at a time to identify the unusable entry.

  2. Disable or remove the unusable MCP configuration, then reload Claude Code.

  3. If the problem occurs after importing, saving, or switching providers, retain the relevant version, system environment, reproduction steps, and logs, and continue tracking it in the corresponding issue.
