Blank screen when adding a provider - CC Switch

Cause

On an Intel MacBook Pro running CC Switch 3.15.0 and macOS Monterey 12.1, clicking the plus button to add a provider or modify API key settings causes a blank screen. The thread provides no logs or confirmed root cause, and does not confirm that 4.0.13 fixed the issue. The maintainer only stated that CC Switch 4.0 included refactoring and fixes, and recommended retesting with the latest version.

In the same thread, a similar UI freeze began with 3.14 on Fedora 44, Wayland, and an NVIDIA discrete GPU, but without a blank screen. Resizing the window refreshes only one frame temporarily. This variant may be related, but the available evidence is insufficient to confirm the same cause. The issue was ultimately closed because there had been no updates for a long time, not because a fix was confirmed.

Fix

  1. Upgrade CC Switch to the maintainer-recommended latest version, 4.0.13, then try adding a provider or modifying the API key settings again.

  2. If the issue persists, record the current CC Switch version, operating system environment, complete reproduction steps, and relevant logs, then submit a new report for further investigation by the maintainer.

  3. If the Linux UI freezes, resize the window by dragging its lower-right corner to refresh one frame temporarily. This only mitigates the symptom and is not a confirmed fix.
