The editor does not clearly distinguish the “local routing address” from the “third-party provider upstream address”. Claude Code
Quick fix
Configure Claude Code's local routing address separately from the upstream OpenAI-compatible provider address to avoid saving the local address as upstream.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”Request URL: http://127.0.0.1:15721In `OpenAI Chat Completions (requires routing)` mode, the report states that the editor appears to show only the local routing address in the provider's “Request URL” area, without clearly providing the upstream third-party OpenAI-compatible address used after protocol conversion. This can confuse `settings_config.env.ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL` and `provider_endpoints.url`, which are values at different levels.
If the local routing address is saved to `provider_endpoints.url`, CC Switch may route requests back to itself, creating a self-reference and failing. The maintainer marked this report as a duplicate of the main issue and closed it, but the original post did not provide a verifiable fixed version or workaround.
When using the Claude provider with `OpenAI Chat Completions (requires routing)` and local routing enabled, confirm that `ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL` remains the local routing address called by Claude Code.
Confirm that `provider_endpoints.url` contains the actual third-party OpenAI-compatible provider base URL, not `http://127.0.0.1:15721`.
After saving and reopening the editor page, verify that the two addresses have not been mixed; if the UI still cannot separately confirm the upstream address, follow the main issue referenced by the maintainer in the source discussion.
