Local routing mode only changes the Fable model: Claude Code
Quick fix
Upgrade to 4.0 or later; local routing writes Haiku, Sonnet, Opus, and Fable as routing aliases.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”setting.json 只有 fable 模型被替换了,其他都走了映射:In setting.json, only the fable model was replaced; the others were all mapped:
In 3.16.4, Claude Code’s model configuration in local routing mode may replace only Fable, while Haiku, Sonnet, and Opus still show their original models. The maintainer said that 4.0 reworked how local routing writes configuration: when routing is enabled, all four roles are written as routing aliases, and the actual model names are mapped in local routing. Another comment said the issue had existed since 3.15.
Upgrade to 4.0 or later, then check whether Haiku, Sonnet, Opus, and Fable are all written as routing aliases in Claude Code’s settings.json.
If the model fields are still inconsistent in the latest version, reply to the issue or open a new one and include the version and the provider’s model mapping configuration.
