After sharing Claude's MCP to Codex through cc-switch, the interface shows it as shared, but it does not appear in Codex. In other words, shared MCP does not work.

Cause

The issue was reported on CC Switch 3.16.5. The maintainer said that version 4.0 made several changes to MCP syncing with Codex: it no longer writes the unsupported type field to Codex's config.toml; servers with only a url are written as HTTP; and switching providers no longer rewrites the entire config.toml, but replaces only key fields. The maintainer recommended testing again with the latest version, but the issue has no follow-up test results, so it is not possible to confirm whether these changes resolved the reported problem.

Fix

  1. Update to the latest CC Switch and try sharing Claude's MCP with Codex again. Get the installer from the official Releases page: https://github.com/farion1231/cc-switch/releases/latest

  2. If Codex still cannot see the MCP, include the CC Switch version number and the mcp_servers section from ~/.codex/config.toml in your report.
