Installation reports missing libwebkit2gtk-4.1.so.0 cc-switch

Quick fix

On Rocky 9, the RPM installation fails because a webkit dependency is missing. Upgrade the system to Rocky 10.1 to resolve it.

Cause

When installing cc-switch from an RPM package on Rocky 9, installation fails because the system’s official repositories do not include the libwebkit2gtk-4.1.so.0 dependency. Some Windows users also cannot find the installer on the Releases page, usually because they have not expanded the Assets list or have encountered a scope issue with winget.

Fix

  1. Upgrade the operating system to Rocky 10.1 or later.

  2. After the upgrade, download the RPM package again and use it to install cc-switch.
