All tool calls return errors: Codex tool call conversion failed

Quick fix

Update CC Switch to v3.16.4 or later and retry to fix the reported Codex tool call conversion issue.

Error output
所有工具调用均返回错误。Codex 会反复尝试调用命令行、工具检索等内置工具,全部调用失败,上游因工具名称为空 / 无法识别拒绝请求。
English translation

All tool calls return errors. Codex repeatedly tries to call built-in tools such as the command line and tool search; every call fails because the upstream rejects requests with an empty or unrecognized tool name.

In 3.16.0, when tool calls returned by the Chat upstream were restored as Codex Responses events, Codex-specific tool information such as `namespace`, `custom`, and `tool_search` was not fully retained. This could cause wrapper tools such as `multi_tool_use.parallel` to degrade into ordinary function calls, sending parallel calls to a single-tool entry point or causing argument parsing errors.

Another report occurred when the Codex Responses interface was converted and routed to a third-party provider that supports only the chat completions interface: streaming tool-call increments could be overwritten by empty deltas, or calls without a valid function name could be generated. In `previous_response_id` continuation scenarios, function names and argument caches might also fail to restore. The maintainer stated these issues were fixed in v3.16.1 and v3.16.4 respectively. If the issue persists after upgrading, the original post requests the provider/model id, Codex logs, cc-switch proxy logs, and a minimal reproduction prompt.

  1. Update CC Switch to v3.16.4 or later and retry; this version includes fixes for streaming tool-call function names, empty delta overwrites, and `previous_response_id` continuation field restoration.

  2. If the issue remains reproducible, provide the provider/model id in use, Codex logs, cc-switch proxy logs, and a minimal reproduction prompt. State whether it occurs only with non-GPT/Codex models.
