Codex still loads skills from ~/.agents/skills after being disabled
Quick fix
Check the skill storage location. If a copy is in ~/.agents/skills, Codex will keep loading it; disable or remove that copy yourself.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”在 cc-switch 技能管理中将某个 skill 的 Codex 开关关闭后,`~/.codex/skills` 中的 symlink 确实被移除了,但 **codex 仍然加载该技能**。After I turned off the Codex switch for a skill in CC Switch skill management, the symlink in `~/.codex/skills` was indeed removed, but **Codex still loads the skill**.
Codex CLI loads skills from both ${CODEX_HOME:-~/.codex}/skills and ~/.agents/skills, and does not deduplicate skills with the same name. Turning off the Codex switch in CC Switch only removes the symlink in the application directory. If a copy remains in ~/.agents/skills, Codex will still load it and may show duplicate entries. Files in this shared directory may be managed by other tools; CC Switch does not remove or take ownership of them.
If you set CC Switch's skill storage location to ~/.agents/skills, that directory stores the skill itself. Turning off the switch only removes the link in ~/.codex/skills, so Codex will continue to load the skill from ~/.agents/skills.
Check the skill storage location in CC Switch settings and see whether a copy of the skill is in ~/.agents/skills. If another tool manages the copy, handle it through that tool or manage it yourself.
If CC Switch's storage location is ~/.agents/skills, the skill will still load after you turn off the Codex switch. You can try disabling the corresponding path in Codex configuration. An issue comment proposed using [[skills.config]], but did not confirm that this method works.
~/.codex/config.toml [[skills.config]]path = "/Users/user-name/.agents/skills/skill-name/SKILL.md"enabled = false

- Why does the skill still load after I turn off the Codex skill switch in CC Switch?
- Codex also loads skills from ~/.agents/skills; turning off the switch only removes the symlink in ~/.codex/skills.
- Can turning off the skill switch also update ~/.codex/config.toml to disable the skill?
- An issue comment proposed setting path and enabled = false with [[skills.config]], but the thread did not confirm whether this works.
