Skill description still shows old content in Claude Code
Quick fix
After manually editing SKILL.md, Claude Code reads the new content, but cc-switch does not refresh the installation-time metadata snapshot in its skill list.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”the description is still the old oneIn the reported environment, after manually changing the SKILL.md frontmatter description in the skill storage directory, the file synced to ~/.claude/skills/ was updated and Claude Code loaded the new description. However, the skill list and description and content_hash in cc-switch.db retained the snapshot from installation or import. As a result, the displayed skill description can differ from the description actually in effect.
This issue is still open and does not provide a confirmed refresh mechanism or fixed version. The reporter suggested reparsing SKILL.md when starting or opening the Skills page, or warning about external changes when the disk file differs from content_hash.
There is currently no metadata refresh procedure confirmed in the issue. After manually editing SKILL.md, use the content of the synced file actually loaded by Claude Code as the source of truth, and note that the cc-switch skill list may still show the old description.
