Configured models not visible - Codex
Quick fix
Sign in to Codex with an official OpenAI account, retain the official login when switching providers, resave, and restart. Some API Key users report no fix.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”3.16.4 、3.16.5 配置的模型看不到配置了多个模型,cc-switch-model-catalog.json也已经生成了In 3.16.4 and 3.16.5, configured models are not visible. Multiple models have been configured, and cc-switch-model-catalog.json has also been generated.
In CC Switch 3.16.4 and 3.16.5, the model catalog file is generated, but Codex does not load its models, so the model list is unavailable or cannot be selected. The same behavior occurs in the Codex desktop app on both Windows and macOS.
The results in the thread are inconsistent: some users resolved the problem by signing in with an official OpenAI account, retaining the official login, and switching to the third-party provider again; others using an API Key found that the same steps still did not work. The issue does not provide a consistently confirmed root cause or an official fixed version.
Sign out of the current Codex session, then sign in again with an official OpenAI account.
In CC Switch, open “Settings → General → Codex App Enhancement” and enable “Keep official login when switching to third parties.”
Add and save the third-party provider configuration again, then switch from the official account to that third-party provider.
Fully restart Codex, then check whether the model list appears and conversations work normally.
If you use an API Key and the steps above do not work, the current issue provides no confirmed general fix; wait for a later version or provide additional reproduction details.

Section titled “Source Issues”This page is distilled from 1 real issues
- Is this a bug, or is it unsupported by design?
- The thread discusses it as a bug, and users note that the 3.16.4 and 3.16.5 release notes said it was fixed, but several people still reproduced it in this issue.
- What does signing in with an account mean? Does Codex need to use account-based login?
- The suggested procedure is to sign in to Codex with an official OpenAI account, enable “Keep official login when switching to third parties,” and then switch to the third-party API. Users relying only on an API Key report that this method may still fail.
- cc-switch-model-catalog.json already contains model information. Why does it still fail to load?
- The issue confirms only that the catalog file was generated but Codex did not display the models. The thread provides no more specific, confirmed reason for the loading failure.
- Does this also occur in the Codex desktop app on macOS?
- Yes. A commenter reports that the Codex desktop app on macOS also could not select models with CC Switch 3.16.4.
