Self-update check fails and latest model versions show as unknown - Claude Code

Quick fix

Update CC Switch to the latest version and retry; related functionality was refactored in 4.0, but the fix was not confirmed.

The self-update check fails, and the latest model versions all appear as unknown in the local environment check.

Cause

The issue occurred on Windows 11 with CC Switch v3.16.3. Changing environment variables did not help, but the report included no logs, screenshots, or complete reproduction steps, so the exact cause of the failed network check cannot be determined.

The maintainer said that related functionality had been substantially refactored in 4.0 and recommended updating to the latest version and retrying. However, the issue was closed after timing out without further reproduction details, not after the user verified a fix.

Fix

  1. Update CC Switch from v3.16.3, the version used when the issue was reported, to the latest version; the maintainer noted that related functionality was substantially refactored in 4.0.

  2. Run the self-update check and local environment check again, then confirm whether the latest model versions still appear as “unknown”.

  3. If the issue persists, provide the CC Switch version, operating system, complete reproduction steps, and relevant logs or screenshots, then reopen the issue.
