Conversation terminates without error: Codex generates images with route proxy enabled

Cause

Section titled “Cause”

This report occurred with local route mapping enabled: `/responses` requests were rewritten to `/chat/completions`. The maintainer explained that text-only Chat Completions upstreams cannot handle Codex requests containing images, so the conversation terminates directly; image generation works after disabling local route mapping.

The maintainer said this was fixed in v3.16.3 through the “Codex image rectifier (for text-only upstreams)” and noted that v3.16.2 had added related image fallback rectification.

Fix

  1. Upgrade cc-switch from the reported 3.16.1 to v3.16.3 or the latest version, then retry image generation.

  2. If it still recurs after upgrading, comment on the original issue with the provider and model information, as the maintainer advised, for further troubleshooting.
