MacOS Memory Leak: cc-switch
Quick fix
Restarting cc-switch after prolonged use can temporarily restore WebKit.WebContent memory usage; no complete fix has been merged.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”磁盘缓存很小,但是运行时 WebView 内存没有释放,猜测 WebKit 在处理 RemoteLayerBackingStoreCollection / JavaScriptCore 分配等方面出现了内存泄露的问题Disk cache is small, but WebView memory is not released at runtime. This may indicate a memory leak in WebKit when handling RemoteLayerBackingStoreCollection / JavaScriptCore allocations and similar areas.
On macOS, this issue accumulates while cc-switch continues running, mainly in WebKit.WebContent graphics layers/backing storage and WebKit Malloc memory; usage returns to normal after restarting.
Reported visible trigger paths include continuous refreshes in Settings → Usage Statistics and repeated layer creation from chart animations. A patch for this path has not been merged, and the reporter explicitly noted that it cannot guarantee a fix for all causes of this issue.
Temporary mitigation: restart cc-switch and check whether WebKit.WebContent memory usage returns to normal.
To help diagnose the issue, record the continuous runtime, WebKit.WebContent memory usage, and whether Settings → Usage Statistics remains open with auto-refresh enabled.
