cmd.exe console window flashes: CC Switch black window flashing
Quick fix
Update to 4.0 or the latest version and retry. If it persists, submit the version, system details, reproduction steps, and logs or screenshots.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”On Windows, CC Switch repeatedly pops up a black `cmd.exe` console window that briefly flashes on screen. On Windows, CC Switch 3.16.3 detects the versions of CLI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode through `cmd /c "xxx --version"`. When CC Switch starts, the About page opens, or detection runs again during operation, a black console window briefly appears if the `cmd.exe` child process is created without `CREATE_NO_WINDOW`.
The issue was closed after timing out because no new reproduction details were provided, not because a fix was confirmed. The maintainer said 4.0 substantially refactored the relevant functionality and recommended updating and retrying, but the thread contains no user confirmation that 4.0 resolved the problem.
Update CC Switch to 4.0 or the latest version, restart Windows, and open the About page to check whether the black `cmd.exe` window still flashes.
If the problem persists, provide the CC Switch version, Windows system information, full reproduction steps, and relevant logs or screenshots, then reopen the issue.
If maintaining the CC Switch process-detection code, set `CREATE_NO_WINDOW` on `std::process::Command` when creating the version-detection child process on Windows. The thread provides no actual source file path and does not confirm that this change was merged.
