Codex Desktop model list is empty and cannot be selected

Follow the official login-state instructions in #4420; a user reported that models became selectable again.

After a Codex update (26.715.12143), the model list is empty and cannot be selected, and the account name in the lower-left changes to the model provider name.

Cause

Both reports describe the Codex Desktop model selector showing no available models. The maintainer of #5066 said the catalog had been generated, but the model selector not displaying it was tracked in #4420, which includes instructions related to the official login state; the issue was closed as a duplicate.

#5726 reported an empty model list after a Codex update, with the account name changing to the model provider name. A commenter said the models became selectable after following #4420, but the original issue did not explain why the account name displayed the model provider name. If the instructions still do not work, the maintainer requested the Codex Desktop version and the output of `codex debug models`; the original issue provides no further verifiable fix.
