503, Connection Failure, or Timeout - Codex Local Routing

Quick fix

Upgrade to CC Switch 4.0 or the latest version, then re-enable local routing or “Keep Official Login.” If it persists, submit versions, logs, and screenshots.

Error output
开启应用增强功能后我原本的api无法连接上,跳503,但在主界面还是显示正常,随后关闭此功能后立即可以使用了。
English translation

After enabling the app enhancement feature, my existing api could no longer connect and returned 503, although the main screen still showed a normal status. It worked immediately after I disabled the feature.

On Windows, the Codex “Keep Official Login When Switching to a Third Party” feature in CC Switch 3.16.1 may prevent the existing API from connecting and return 503. Disabling the feature restores connectivity immediately. The maintainer stated that the relevant handling was rewritten in 4.0: third-party keys are written to the [model_providers.custom] table in config.toml, the official login remains in auth.json, and login-related switches are set automatically based on whether auth.json contains an actual login instead of using the old template.

CC Switch 3.16.3 has a similar variant without complete reproduction details: after enabling local routing for Claude Code or Codex, connections frequently fail, time out, or have high latency. The issue was closed due to insufficient reproduction information, and the maintainer only recommended upgrading and retrying. The existing records therefore cannot confirm that both symptoms have exactly the same root cause or that upgrading will necessarily resolve them.

  1. Upgrade CC Switch to 4.0 or the latest version.

  2. In Settings, re-enable local routing or the Codex “Keep Official Login” feature, then test the connection again.

  3. If 503 errors, connection failures, timeouts, or high latency persist after upgrading, provide the CC Switch version, Codex version, operating system, complete reproduction steps, and an error screenshot or cc-switch.log.
