Claude Code uses a private model. After starting it directly through claude in iterm2, the model does not respond, but a terminal launched from the cc-swtich window can converse normally. The cause is unknown.

Cause

In this report, when Claude Code used a private model, the model did not respond after starting it directly through `claude` from iTerm2. A terminal launched from the cc-switch window could converse normally. The reporter confirmed that deleting all providers and then setting the same model for the same provider resolved it.

Before the issue was closed by the stale mechanism, the maintainer marked it resolved based on the reporter's confirmation. The original post did not explain the underlying cause of the lack of response.

Fix

  1. Delete all current providers.

  2. Set up the same provider again and assign it the same model.

  3. Start Claude Code through `claude` from iTerm2 and confirm that it can converse normally.
