Codex Provider switching fails: unable to resolve account ID

Quick fix

Copying codex_oauth_auth.json from device A to device B restored switching for the user. This is a temporary workaround; no official fix is recorded.

Error output
切换 Provider 时,程序无法解析该账号 ID,因此切换失败。

When switching Provider, the program cannot resolve this account ID, so switching fails.

This report concerns restoring a WebDAV or S3 cloud sync snapshot across devices. The OpenAI Official Provider's meta.authBinding.accountId was restored, but device B lacked the original device's codex_oauth_auth.json, and the authentication center had no matching account. Switching failed because the account ID could not be resolved. Based on this, the reporter identified a mismatch between the sync scope of Provider bindings and OAuth account storage.

  1. If you encounter the same situation, check whether the restored Provider still retains meta.authBinding.accountId while the current device's authentication center has no matching account.

  2. The user verified a temporary workaround: manually copy codex_oauth_auth.json from device A to device B. Switching then works normally. The original issue provides neither the full file path nor a configuration diff.

  3. Follow source issue #7561 for updates. The report remains open. Showing the restored Provider as unbound or requiring reauthentication, and guiding users through rebinding, are behaviors requested by the reporter. No implemented official fix is recorded.
