1M Context Configuration Not Taking Effect Claude Code
Quick fix
Revert the Opus route in the cc-switch database from claude-opus-4-8 to claude-opus-4-6, then restart Claude Desktop.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”Claude desktop正常使用更新后1M上下文选项没有了,上下文回到200K
同时fable5显示不可用了Claude desktop worked normally, but after the update the 1M context option disappeared and context reverted to 200K. At the same time, fable5 showed as unavailable.
The report appeared after a Claude Desktop update: the 1M context option disappeared and reverted to 200K. A user analysis in the discussion suggests that the cc-switch database sets the default Opus model name to 4.8 but passes the 1M declaration format for 4.6; Claude Desktop may not recognize this combination. The maintainer has not confirmed this analysis as the root cause. One user provided a temporary workaround by reverting the Opus route version and reported that Opus4.6, Sonnet4.6, and haiku4.5 worked. The original post also mentioned that the issue was not fully resolved, so treat this as a user-tested temporary workaround.
In the cc-switch database, find the claudeDesktopModelRoutes field and change every claude-opus-4-8 to claude-opus-4-6.
.cc-switch\cc-switch.db claudeDesktopModelRoutes: claude-opus-4-8 → claude-opus-4-6Restart Claude Desktop so it reloads the model mapping.
If the 1M declaration for Sonnet or Haiku also fails, you can follow the discussion's approach and have cc-switch pass the older version number and older 1M declaration; the post reported that Opus4.6, Sonnet4.6, and haiku4.5 worked.

Section titled “Source Issues”This page is distilled from 1 real issues
- Is this a CCswitch issue or a new version of Claude Code issue?
- The original post speculates that the issue is related to the Claude Desktop upgrade no longer recognizing the current declaration combination, but the maintainer has not confirmed a final attribution.
- Has this issue been fully resolved?
- A comment explicitly says that the original post had not fully resolved it; so far, there is only a temporary rollback workaround provided and tested by a user.
