AbsolutePathBuf deserialized without a base path, Codex

Quick fix

macOS Codex Desktop users can set model_catalog_json in config.toml to the absolute path of the model catalog file.

Error output
创建任务时出错
invalid configuration: AbsolutePathBuf deserialized without a base path
in `model_catalog_json`
English translation

An error occurred while creating a task invalid configuration: AbsolutePathBuf deserialized without a base in `model_catalog_json`

Since v3.16.2, CC Switch writes `model_catalog_json` as a relative path. The issue report says macOS Codex Desktop cannot resolve this relative path at startup; changing it to an absolute path resolves the problem. The issue may recur whenever CC Switch writes the configuration. It is not caused by stale local database data.

Comments on #5731 also report Windows and Linux, but provide no reproduction details for those platforms. #5962 separately reports a conflict between the stdio and HTTP fields in MCP Server; that is a different failure and is not covered here.

  1. Open `~/.codex/config.toml` and set the value of `model_catalog_json` to the absolute path of the model catalog file; the issue provides the following example path.

    ~/.codex/config.toml
    model_catalog_json = "cc-switch-model-catalog.json"
    model_catalog_json = "/Users/<user>/.codex/cc-switch-model-catalog.json"
  2. Save the configuration and restart Codex. The issue report says it starts normally after changing the path to an absolute path.

Can restoring the latest CC Switch database backup resolve this?
A user on #5731 reported that restoring the latest database backup via CC Switch “Settings → Advanced → Restore and Backup” and reopening Codex restored normal operation; the user was unsure whether that action caused the recovery. #5962 says the problem is not caused by stale local database data and recommends changing the path to an absolute path.
