FastMCP tools not visible in tool list: Claude Code

No tools from this server are visible in the tool list.

Cause

Section titled “Cause”

The report says the stdio MCP server process started and the MCP handshake succeeded. `tools/list` returned 35+ tools, but they did not appear in Claude Code conversations. Trying SSE and streamable-http did not resolve the issue; the Stata MCP SSE server configured in the same CC Switch worked normally. After investigating, the maintainer concluded the cause was on the client or provider side and could not be fundamentally fixed by CC Switch.

Fix

  1. The maintainer suggested trying CC Switch 4.0; this issue did not confirm that upgrading resolved the problem. If the issue persists after upgrading, add the version and reproduction steps, then reopen the issue.
