Codex reasoning levels reduced to none and high
Quick fix
In the Codex provider editor, select the supported and default reasoning levels in the model row; do not manually edit catalog files that will be regenerated.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”ccswitch 生成的模型目录只声明了 none 和 highThe model catalog generated by ccswitch declares only none and high.
Codex's cc-switch-model-catalog.json is generated from provider configuration and regenerated when switching providers, so manually editing the file to add supported_reasoning_levels may be overwritten. When the model catalog lacks reasoning levels, Codex reasoning mode falls back to none and high. A comment on another issue suggested not adding mapped models when adding a third-party proxy, but the maintainer's fix was to store the levels in the provider model configuration.
Starting with 3.20.0, select the required supported and default reasoning levels in the model row on the Codex provider editor page; common provider presets already include the relevant levels. These settings persist when switching providers.
Do not rely on manually editing cc-switch-model-catalog.json to persist reasoning levels, because the file is regenerated when switching providers.

- Why are only None and High available again after switching providers?
- The model catalog is regenerated from provider configuration, so manually added supported_reasoning_levels may be overwritten. Set the supported reasoning levels in the model row on the Codex provider editor page.
- Should I add mapped models when adding a third-party Codex proxy?
- A comment on one issue suggested not adding mapped models and said cc-switch uses all configured models by default; the maintainer's persistent setup method is to select reasoning levels for the model in the provider editor.
