Settings Reset to Defaults After Restart, Codex
Quick fix
Upgrade to CC Switch v4.0.0 or later; when switching providers or using local routing, it replaces only key fields and preserves other settings and plugins.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”像外观、语音配置、本地记忆、上下文长度显示等设置在重启后会恢复默认Settings such as appearance, voice configuration, local memory, and the displayed context length return to their defaults after restarting.
Older versions wrote the full provider configuration to config.toml, overwriting other Codex settings after switching or using local routing. Comments also mention that Codex plugins were cleared when setting the model list, and that the conversation usage display and link-opening behavior in the Codex desktop app on Windows reset after restart. The maintainer explained that starting with CC Switch v4.0.0, switching providers or using local routing replaces only the endpoint, credential, model, and protocol fields, while other settings and plugins in ~/.codex/config.toml remain unchanged.
Upgrade CC Switch to v4.0.0 or later.
Switch providers or use local routing again, then check whether Codex settings and plugins are preserved; if settings still reset on v4.0.0 or later, report the version used and reproduction steps.
