OpenAI OAuth account/quota UI disappears in Codex Desktop
Quick fix
Upgrade to CC Switch 4.0 and confirm the official OAuth login is still stored on disk; local routing can still forward requests through a custom endpoint.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”If the active custom/local provider is projected with `requires_openai_auth = false`, Codex Desktop may hide the account/quota footer because the app-server short-circuits auth status before exposing the existing OAuth account. If a local or custom provider projection sets `requires_openai_auth` to `false`, the Codex app-server may short-circuit auth status before exposing the existing OAuth account to the UI, causing the account and quota area in the lower-left corner of Codex Desktop to disappear. This differs from `auth.json` being cleared: the issue describes an OAuth token that remains valid.
The maintainer said CC Switch 4.0 rewrote Codex routing and configuration writing logic. `requires_openai_auth` is now based on whether official login settings exist on disk, and official account routing continues to use Codex's own login instead of copying login information. The issue does not confirm that the reporter retested and resolved the problem after upgrading.
Upgrade to CC Switch 4.0 or a later version, and confirm the official OAuth login is still stored on disk. If the problem persists, the maintainer recommends providing the CC Switch and Codex versions, along with the relevant `config.toml` content.
