After setting CODEX_HOME, Codex saves configuration to the wrong location

Quick fix

No verified universal fix was provided. Set the Codex configuration path manually; direct ${xxx} environment-variable reading is unsupported.

When CCS saves configuration: the modified configuration file location remains the default location;

Issue #3119 reports that after setting `CODEX_HOME` on Windows, CC Switch still saved configuration to the default location rather than the environment-variable directory. The maintainer stated that the logic was “default `~/.codex` + manually configurable”; the reply did not clarify whether automatic `CODEX_HOME` detection was supported.

Issue #2070 is a related but different compatibility variant: it reports that Codex does not support reading environment-variable keys directly with `${xxx}`, so the same MCP configuration cannot be shared with Claude Code. The issue was later only automatically closed as stale; the original post provides no verified solution.

  1. Manually specify the Codex configuration location in CC Switch. For MCP configurations incompatible with `${xxx}` environment-variable reading, the original posts provide no verified fix; follow the discussion in the corresponding source issue.
