cc-switch keeps opening detection windows when checking local codex
Quick fix
Windows CLI detection causes windows and processes to pile up. The issue provides no verifiable fix; a timeout is only a user request.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”切换node之后 ,必出现,100%卡死电脑After switching node, it happens every time and freezes the computer 100% of the time.
The report describes cc-switch repeatedly opening detection windows and accumulating detection processes when checking local Codex on Windows. A comment adds that switching node freezes the computer. The report also lists Claude Code and OpenCode as affected applications, but provides no separate reproduction results for them. The version is listed only as “最新版”, so the specific affected version is unknown.
The reporter attributes the problem to missing strict timeouts and protection against concurrent checks when detecting external commands, claiming that new processes spawn even when a previous check is stuck. They believe the Windows .cmd → cmd.exe → codex.exe invocation chain amplifies the buildup, with 1958 processes remaining open. This is the reporter's analysis; the issue contains no maintainer confirmation or verification evidence. A timeout is a requested fix. Although the issue is closed, there is no evidence of a fix or a verifiable workaround.
The issue provides no verifiable solution. The user's requests for timeout cleanup and protection against concurrent checks must not be treated as available fixes.
Watch source issue #7115 for maintainer confirmation, a fixed version, or reports of a successful workaround. Its closed status alone does not prove the problem is resolved.
