Cause

Reports indicate that when Codex switches between multiple provider configurations, it may actually call a model from another configuration. `config.toml` may also fail to apply the active configuration, causing `model_provider` and the actual name to become inconsistent.

Maintainers said these symptoms substantially overlap with Codex configuration/takeover switching, model catalog refresh, and some provider format conversion issues fixed in v3.16.0 / v3.16.1, and recommended upgrading and verifying again. The original reports did not provide post-upgrade reproduction or successful verification results, so this does not confirm that every scenario is resolved.

Fix

  1. Upgrade CC Switch to v3.16.1 or later.

  2. After upgrading, verify Codex's current provider, route configuration, and whether `config.toml` matches the enabled configuration.

  3. If the issue still reproduces consistently, add the CC Switch version, operating system, related application versions, current provider/route configuration, reproduction steps, and logs or screenshots to the original issue.
