Common Config disappears during Codex proxy takeover
Quick fix
Upgrade to cc-switch 4.0.0 or later; its redesigned routing mode preserves other config.toml content during takeover.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”shared Codex config such as:
- `[agents]`
- `[features]`
- `[memories]`
- `developer_instructions`
- other shared/default TOML sections
can disappear from the live Codex config while proxy takeover is active. In cc-switch 3.14.1, Codex proxy takeover modifies `auth.OPENAI_API_KEY` and `base_url` in the live config in place, rather than rebuilding the file from the active provider configuration. As a result, shared configuration can disappear from `~/.codex/config.toml`. The maintainer said cc-switch 4.0.0 removed generic config fragments and redesigned routing mode: when routing starts, it replaces only the address and placeholder credentials, preserving all other `config.toml` content. Therefore, this issue no longer applies in 4.0.0.
Upgrade to cc-switch 4.0.0 or later. The maintainer said the routing mode was redesigned in the new version; if the issue persists after upgrading, provide more information and reopen the issue.
