Remote Control requires claude.ai subscription auth, Claude Code
Quick fix
Upgrade to cc-switch v4.0 or later; switching to Claude Official clears leftover ANTHROPIC_* credentials from settings.json.
Symptom
Section titled “Symptom”Remote Control requires claude.ai subscription auth. ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN is set, so this session is using API-key auth — unset it (or run in a shell without it) to use Remote Control. The issue may come from two paths: older terminal launchers injected provider-specific `claude --settings <temp-config>` settings for Claude Official; live settings writes may also have written API overrides from the official provider record back to the Claude configuration. The maintainer said that starting with v4.0, switching providers replaces only connection fields and removes the previous provider’s `ANTHROPIC_*` credentials from `settings.json` when switching to Claude Official. This issue did not confirm whether the user continued to encounter the problem after updating.
Upgrade to cc-switch v4.0 or later, then select Claude Official again. The maintainer said that starting with this version, it clears the `ANTHROPIC_*` credentials left by the previous provider in `settings.json`.
If API Usage Billing is still displayed, provide the cc-switch version, how you launch Claude Code (the cc-switch terminal button or your own shell), and the `claude doctor` output for further troubleshooting.
